Intramural sports are scheduled competitive and recreational activities. Intramural activities are offered for both men and women. Participants may choose from individual, dual or team activities. Male, female, and coed activities are organized into various skill levels for the enjoyment of the participant.

Georgia State University and the Department of Recreational Services is proud to host the 15th Annual Georgia Collegiate Basketball Championships.

We invite teams from junior colleges, community colleges, and four year universities. This tournament is not restricted to league champions nor limited to a certain number of teams from any one school.

FEE: $225 per team if entry postmarked by February 8 (Early registration)
$250 per team if entry postmarked after February 8
DEADLINE: The final entry deadline is Friday, February 12

ELIGIBILTY:   more info

    • Must be a current and eligible student
    • Players on a team must be from the same institution
    • Any former or current professional athlete is not eligible
    • All members must bring a valid institutional photo ID card
    • Members can not be currently on a college basketball roster and only 1 former collegiate player is allowed per team

TOURNAMENT FORMAT:

    • Games will be officiated according to NFHS rules
    • Tournament format will be pool play. The top 2 teams from each pool will advance to a single-elimination playoff. Each team is guaranteed at least two (2) games

EQUIPMENT:

    • Teams must provide their own jerseys with numbers on the back. It is strongly recommended that each team bring a light and dark set of jerseys with numbers.
    • Basketballs will be provided

AWARDS:

    • The winners of each division (M&W) will receive a paid entry fee to the NCCS Regional Basketball Tournament at Georgia Tech in Atlanta.
    • Trophies will be awarded to the champion of each division and the runner up.
    • T-shirts will be awarded to both winning teams
    • All-tournament awards will be given to the top players in each division
    • An MVP will be awarded for each division
    • A team sportsmanship award will be given to each division
    • The awards ceremony will take place on Sunday, following the respective division’s championship game

OFFICIALS:

    • The top officials from the state will be officiating all the games. Any institution that is interested in sending officials should contact Andy Hudgins at andyhudgins@gsu.edu.  Deadline for applications is February 12.
    • There will be a mandatory clinic for all officials in Room 215 of the Student Recreation Center on Friday, February 19th at 5:00PM

MEDICAL:

    • Certified athletic trainers will be on site throughout the tournament
    • Athletic tape will not be provided
